family~*

cherish them. be concerned about them. cherish the time you have together. enjoy the times. love them with all your heart. respect them. acknowledge them. help them ladle soup and pile their plates and bowls with food. treasure them. laugh with them. talk to them. smile at them. help them in whatever ways you can. just... be with them.

love them,
love them,
love them.

because these are the most I can do for them. and these actions are nothing compared to what they have given us. yes, there have been unhappiness... but still, I can never do enough for them. nothing will ever equate to their unconditional love...

love your family.

stop telling yourself there's always time in future to be filial because time is always ticking away...

(really enjoyed the special steamboat dinner with my family tonight. makes me happy when everyone is happy...:) simple happiness... sometimes, that's what we all need)

sisters~*

One of the rare pics which features both me and my sis... =___=

So, my sister has left for Melbourne.

Ling-er said we were all very strong, because he said he would cry if someone started crying.

haha.

I don't know. Maybe it's because I just want my mind to be filled with the thought that well, she'll be back.
And I'll see her again in June. :)

It was a rather happy departure. :)

Except the last awkward moment when Ling-er was asking me to go and hug my sister.

Ling-er: Go and hug her la!
Mum: Yeah quick!
Jas: ehhhh...
Jess: ehhhh...
.....
J&J: Very weird la!!! XD

so in the end, there's no touching, teary sisterly embrace. HAHA.
Which kind of summarizes our closeness with each other. :)

Oh no, don't get me wrong.
You know, for my sis and I, there's no need for physical affection. :)
(we never EVER hugged, kissed or said ANY mushy things to each other. XD)

You just know that, deep down, you love her and she loves you. :)
No need for beautiful words, warm gestures.
It's a... fact. HAHA.

Moo was saying departure halls are always the saddest and most touching.

For me, I think arrival halls are more touching :)

Anyway, I'd have to admit that her absence is making me feel all strange and well, a little lonely (esp since we've become much much closer recently than we were in the past)...

haha yes yes I would miss her.

But still, I must be strong.

It's like a transition stage in my life right now.

With my sister away from us, with my parents having more interactions with each other, with my A's results coming out SOOOOON (GOODNESS....), with me understanding more about the corporate world, understanding more about the complexity of human relationships, getting to know 3 really amazingly great friends who are extremely good at killing zombies, having a pair of angel's wings with me all the time, having more and more responsibilities, learning how to cope with many things, being honest to myself...

haha.

Life.

Not good all the time. Not bad all the time.

I guess, that's why it is amazing.

Jess,
you'd better take care of yourself over there. And I got a webcam cos of you alright!!! XD You must rmb that back in singapore, there's a girl who loves you more than anyone else in the world (I GUESS) haha. and she's your sister. :)

[please pardon any grammar error/typos cos i'm typing with my eyes half closed]

Ahhh... I'm officially 18 years + 2 days old.

But strangely, I feel the same as I did 3 days ago? Lol.
(then again, are you supposed to feel different??)

Alright. For the past few days, life has been surprisingly pleasant to me.
(that's my best birthday present, I guess)

1. 16th July

It must've been one of the best days of year 2008. :)

Firstly, instead of boring and sleep-inducing lectures/tutorials, we had chem prac! :D
As usual, I had to FIGHT with Ruzi over every little thing.
From which experiment to start with, to pushing the blame to each other when our 'silver mirror' was not mirror-like at all. :(
(refer to her blog for details)

haha. Anyway, it was really really fun.
And it's when I started performing the experiments when I realized how much I missed QA!

Oh yes, then we played 'Treasure Hunt' game during civics.
It was to commemorate Racial Harmony Week. :)

And of course, not to forget, it was my birthday. :)

I really really wanna say a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who remembered my birthday! :D
It really means a lot to me.

KAREN! SERENE! YEEYAN! JOYCE! FIONA! CURRYPOK! CINDY! RUZI! KANNEX! AILEEN! YILIANG! YIHANG! PEI RONG! TIFFANY! KL-SAN! RAPHAEL! TUNA! SI AUN! CHERYL! NICHOLAS! WEILONG! KAH YING! RACHEL! BERNICE! ZUHUI! (that lovely card! :D)

My favourite girls.

You girls never fail to surprise me time and again. XD And don't worry, the lovely wine glass is placed in the glass cabinet in my house. :D And that sexy red wine and wallet. lol. I havent frame up that photo yet (cos i'm not inside!) You girls rock rock rock! :D *Hugs*

BINS.

haha thank you so much for the cards and presents! (curry pok and your SUPER BIG pen XD, Wenshi and that pretty Japanese bookmark! ^_^ and of course, the super pretty card!!)
Really loved it. :D And those messages and well wishes. I really appreciate it. :)

"BFFs"

Nicholas! Darrel! Serene! thank you for making my birthday so memorable (by forcing my out of the photo/destroying them etc). Lol. and of course, thanks for the treat to Sakae Teppanyaki!! :D I won't forget how sua gu I was about the rocks and oysters. lol.

22/07

For the birthday song at PE dept. :) Oh and the birthday kiss from Ms Dawn Tan. XD

Family

For the super delicious Swensen's ice-cream birthday cake! ^_^

And of course, my darling sister and her bf who got me this SUPER SUPER WONDERFUL BDAY PRESENT!!!

For me, honestly speaking, I'm no longer wishing for expensive/practical birthday presents.
Nor am I looking forward to it just because I was curious what my family would get for me.

Instead, it was more like an evidence of your existence.
And it means a lot to me just to have somebody remembering it. :)

So, 本当にありがとう!!!!:D

2. Math Test

I don't know why but I feel like mentioning this.

So many of us were panicking over it and doing last-min cramming. >.<

During the exam...
*students frantically punching numbers into calculators/crushing papers/scribbling furiously*
Teacher: Time's up!
Students: *groans and starts complaining*...

Teacher: Ok. Now, you keep the papers. Answer key will be handed out shortly....

....................................

Students: WHAT THE $%$&%*#$%&#$%'?!!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I feel scammed.

3. Volleyball

I guess I never mentioned before that my class is playing volleyball for PE. :)

So cool eh?

And I've been having bruised arms every Tuesday. T^T

Anyway, had a game of volleyball with some of the girls last tues and it was HILARIOUS. haha.
Well, at least now I'm thoroughly convinced that I'm just NOT sporty. AT. ALL. haha.

4. SCHOOL

School has been really hectic these days.

There's just so much to do with so little time. Sigh.

Anyway, I guess all my Fridays would be used up for extra lessons/timed prac.

Well, for your info, today's another one of those days. (We had that terrible math test from 4.15 to 6.15).

Eugene: Wuah... I do the paper until my brain is going to explode already...
Ruzi: My head is really exploding. T_T
Jas: Yeah.... T_T

I was so tired during the math test, I had this crazy idea of giving up the entire paper and just sleep for the 2 hours.

Even now, while I'm typing this, my eyes are closing already.

5. Emotional roller coaster?

I admit I would still feel a little down whenever I think of this incident.

Although it doesn't concern me directly, still, I can feel the pain and heartache.

You keep pretending as if everything is alright. As if things are what they were.
But, is it, really?

I'm sure you're not putting on a genuine smile.

about this time, last year,
you told me my face was as bitter as a bittergourd.

A year later,
it's my time to tell that to you?

If I were you, I would not have been so strong.

I hope that, soon, you'll be able to smile genuinely again. :)

6. A maiden's prayer.

The piece I'm currently learning.

Or rather, the piece I requested to play.

Hmm... this piece holds a lot of meaning for me. And it's one of the pieces of music that I've fallen in love with since primary school.

Merry BELATED Christmas~*

I love this picture for some unknown reasons. haha.
Jun: Merry BELATED Christmas :D

Mood: :)
Music: Untitled ~for her~ by Ayumi

"Don't just make money. Make memories."

-The Christmas Shoes

1. So how was your Christmas? :D

Well, I bet anyone's Christmas will be more interesting than mine. haha.

But I enjoyed myself on Christmas EVE though. XD

Christmas Eve:

I was making nice little chocolates with sis! haha.

Sisters in action. :)

Jess: It looks like cow dung.

haha. Well, I realized that using the microwave oven is much more effective than cooking it slowly over fire. *winks at yeeyan and serene*
(final product will be shown in the next post! XD)

Anyway, after that, Mum came home from work and we started preparing the Christmas dinner.
Started off with the salad!

They look fresh, don't they? haha.
Well, I washed ALL of them and ATTEMPTED to peel the baby carrots.
I feel really proud of myself. To a small extent. -___-

Mum: You take so long just to peel a carrot. Oh, and are your fingers still present?

I love this woman.

Then everybody arrived and the food was ready. :D

(sorry for the blurry picture. my hand shook. ^^;;)

After the meal, we had wine (haha. It's really harmless, right? ^^;;)

HERE COMES THE MAIN HIGHLIGHT OF THE NIGHT~~~!

ICE WINE~~~~!!!!

Honestly, I've never tasted any wine like this.
it's SWEET. It's actually SWEET.

Alright. Call me ignorant or whatever.
But I was really amazed at the sweetness of the wine. :D

And well, the sweetness comes with a price, of course.

Lun (my sis's bf): It cost $***

Hint: it's a 3-digit number and it starts with a '2'

GOODNESS. I had to cherish every drop of it that's in my glass.

And I realized I can hold my liquor pretty well, considering the fact that I drank quite a bit that night. XD

Oh, and another highlight of the night...

The really pretty logcake my mum made!!!

...
....
.....

JUST KIDDING.

Correction. The really pretty logcake my DAD bought!
It was a really pleasant surprise, cos we seriously thought there won't be any log cake this year. ^_^

So, well, I really enjoyed myself on Christmas eve. :D

Although we didn't have a huge party, over the top Christmas decorations and turkey etc etc, I still enjoyed myself. :)

It's the company that matters.

As long as I'm with the people I treasure the most, I don't mind eating instant noodles for Christmas dinner. :)

Christmas Day:

There's absolutely nothing worth mentioning.

haha. It's like this every year.
Christmas eve is always interesting, but the day itself will be no difference from any other ordinary holiday...

But then again, every day is different in some ways.
Once there are differences, there'll definitely be something worth mentioning. XD

haha hmm... let's see.
I had a good heart to heart with my
sister, which is the rarest thing that can possibly happen between us.

And I really appreciate it.

Although she's obnoxious most of the time, self-centred (in a harmless way) *winks at Serene*, has a bloody bad temper, HATES losing etc etc (her list of bad traits can continue forever), she's still someone I really look up to, someone I love with all my heart, someone who has played a major part in my life.

:)

Wait a sec. I think I've digressed too much.

I'm supposed to talk about Christmas! haha.

Yah. Christmas.

I was really happy to receive many heartwarming christmas messages from my friends. :)
thank you all very much! :D

oh, and

Have you watched a show called 'The Christmas Shoes'? Or ever read a novel with the same title?

It's a really touching show that I strongly recommend everyone to watch. (maybe on next year's christmas then. XD)

It's a show about love, hope and faith, the 3 main elements that make Christmas special. :)

While to some people, Christmas might just be about parties, presents, good food and fun, I beg to differ.
Maybe, it's supposed to convey a certain message to people.

I'm not a Christian, so I don't know much about Christmas. But I think that it's an occasion to bring people together. To strengthen bonds, to spread the love... :)

But of course, that should be done not just on Christmas! ^_^

3.

Sometimes, we don't really need materialistic things to make us happy.

We might say 'If I had a Burberry perfume, I'd be SUPER HAPPY', 'If I had an apartment in XXX condo, I'd be contented', 'If I had an expensive wallet, I'd be happy'...

Maybe we'll be really happy about it.
But how long will this happiness last?

And this kind of happiness is EXPENSIVE! haha.
I definitely don't have the money to enjoy this kind of happiness.

So, then, what can bring us happiness?

Little, little, trivial things.

Like when you're walking on the street and a baby girl looks at you and smiles.
Like when you win a silly game of pool (online) *winks at Karen*
Like when you listen to a happy song.
Or when you dream a happy dream *winks at Ruzi and Wenshi ---> Jonas Salk*

For me, I was really happy when I received the comment from Remee. :)
Remee, that meant a lot to me. Really. :D

It's really great to be able to convey your feelings and thoughts to people.
and share your happiness and sadness with readers from all over the world.

That goes to say that, even when you feel lonely, as long as there are people out there who remember you and listen to you, no matter how few there are, you're not alone. :)

So for me, even if there's only one reader, I'll keep writing.
Even if there's only one person who's willing to talk to me, I'll listen.

Like I always say,

I'll be there for you, because you were there for me. :)

thanks for reading to the end. It's a really boring entry. ^^;;

To thank you, a really cool video on Ayumi impersonators at GAYPRIDE '07 in Tokyo. It's entitled 'Walking Proud' (an ayu song) The gays really love her. :)

The videos warmed my heart. Really. :D

Music: ding-dong by TOKIO

Suddenly, I remember this short convo we had through sms.

Jas: The only type of game I'm good at is probably escape games.
Karen: Next time you'll know how to escape if you're stuck in life. There's always a way out.

I love this girl. :)

Anyway, photos as promised!

haha. I tried really hard to capture the boy playing with the water. haha. turned out not bad, I guess. XD

It looks nice from up here, but when you actually walk in the crowd, you feel like throwing yourself against the wall.

Yeeyan and I at Bugis. Well, yeah yeah I know I look strange.
But I look strange in 99% of the photos ANYWAY.
So get used to it. ;)

A very artistic shot I took when I was chilling out with Yeeyan at Burger King.

Anyway, I love the fact that we can sit at Yoshinoya for ages just observing people walking around. :)

People watching.

And the way we can talk on and on about things that I normally won't talk about.

Love you, babe. :)

The world, through my room window.
It was raining btw, so you can see raindrops on my window.
Oh, and you can tell how dirty my window is.
HAHAHAHA.

I bet many people don't really know how my house looks like, so here it is.

My house's 45 degrees to the ground. XD

@Karen's birthday
photos credit to KAREN!
(though I was the photographer for the day. for SOME photos only. XD)

Karen's birthday cake! You can't really tell, but it's HUGE.
And I loved the fruits on top. ^_~Y
Karen has good taste. haha.

A GIGANTIC piece of cake for Karen's mum. GOODNESS.
We were laughing our heads off when we saw how HUGE it was.

and it's a second helping too. XD

Sushi-making with Karen and Karen's mum!
These are Karen's. NICE EH?

And as for mine...

I'm really hopeless when it comes to things to do with cooking, handicraft etc etc...

Please don't laugh.

Ok. Forget it. I'm laughing now.

Battle~
BoA Vs Ayu!

writing some Japanese stuff on Karen's notebook in Karen's room. haha.
She was trying so hard to figure it out and then I just told her I wrote her birthdate in hiragana, that's all.

XD

Looking back into the past... =)

Long overdue pictures

@karaoke with Serene
photos credit to TRJ (old)

This thing is sooooo cool. It's the actual thing from Japan! =)
Which means, you can only sing Japanese songs there.

But the songs are SO NEW, it's unbelievable!

Me and Serene!
You must really understand that I'm a SUPER UNPHOTOGENIC person.

hahaha. when I say SUPER, it's really SUPER.

And now, Serene's probably FREEZING in Japan.
Yup she's currently in JAPAN.
She'd better bring some nice things back for me. HAHAHA.

Although I know you wont see this until you come back, take care lots over there! :)
Same to Joyce. Take care, my ke ai ji~! :)

I feel my entry's much livelier when there are photos. hahaha.

Anyway, I LOVE MY NEW PHONE. :D

And I love my sis and dad for accompanying me to go get one, despite their crazy schedules. :D

And I love my mum for forgetting to ask me for my new number and end up calling my old number non-stop. HAHAHA.

Also, that's one thing off my Christmas wishlist. haha.

From now on, I'll continue taking photos of everything that I treasure and that I want to share with all of you. :D
