NORWEGIAN WOOD - by The Beatles
I once had a girl, or should I say, she once had me...
She showed me her room, isn't it good, norwegian wood?

She asked me to stay and she told me to sit anywhere,
So I looked around and I noticed there wasn't a chair.

I sat on a rug, biding my time, drinking her wine,
We talked until two and then she said, "It's time for bed"

She told me she worked in the morning and started to laugh.
I told her I didn't and crawled off to sleep in the bath

And when I awoke, I was alone, this bird had flown
So I lit a fire, isn't it good, norwegian wood.

well, this song is about lesbians and in the end, the girl set fire to that girl's house as a form of revenge.

LOL.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TAKO! :D

Mood: Dreamy
Music: O' Sole Mio by Lisa Ono

"I'm pondering the imponderables."

1. HEADACHE

Urgh. Yikes. Shit. Sigh. Heck. Damn.

I hate headaches.

2. 90529

I learnt how to read dates like that during my 5-going-to-6 months of work.

Anyway, that date marks the end of a phase in my life.
I'm trying to make it sound all casual and well, light-hearted.
But the fact is, it's not.

I was rather stunned by my emotions that day (and 90528 as well, when my colleagues gave me a treat).

I thought I would be super happy and relieved and start throwing all my work-related stuff into the bin and then do a victory dance.

But the fact is, I was nowhere near that state of happiness/ecstasy.

Hmm.. call me emotional, but well, it was still hard to bade (some of my) colleagues goodbye.

Especially when I saw what they did for me and said to me on my last day of work.

I guess during this period of time, I've experienced and learnt a lot.

I've tasted the bitterness of office politics, learnt the joy of working together with people you really like, read the faces of the bosses, take initiative to do things, to put up a strong front, to make friends with customers (HAHAHA!).

I've also come to realize that the corporate world is still a very complex place. And not everything has its explanations. People are not always who you think they are.

Hmmm.

I'm going to miss

pretty I-chan whom I can relate to the most, my gong-gong disciple who's always making me feel flattered and who views me as Saint Jasmine or something (even though I'm not!), Tattoo Bikerboy Big Brother who's always concerned for me (you gotta get well soon!), superwoman J who's always watching over me :) :) :), fellow Cancerian PL-chan who's always telling me how much she's gonna miss me MONTHS before I'm leaving, super funny ML-san who's my mentor when I started work, Silly GH-kun who looked so downcast when he learnt that I'm leaving ...

Of course there are many more colleagues whom I won't forget (for the good reasons and the bad)

I was most touched by Boss B who offered me really good advice about my university education and was probably the only boss who remembered I was leaving that day and gave me a treat... :)

I am going to miss walking for about 20 minutes just to get there.
I'm going to miss yong tau foo lunch at blk 48, wanton mee at dormitory and fish soup at Toh Guan Centre.
I'm going to miss the B______S there who are always flooding the bus stop. XD
I'm going to miss all the crazy drivers who drive so haphazardly that I keep telling my colleagues
"one day if you get knocked down, you would still be wondering which direction that vehicle came from."

Most importantly, I'm going to miss using my most polite receptionist voice.

3. ANDERSON JC 25TH SPEECH DAY

So, I went back to AJ to get my voucher, cert and a plaque.

And it was the first time my parents actually set foot in AJ.

...

HOW SAD IS THAT. (that's a statement. not a question)

After TWO years of education there, my parents didn't have the slightest how my school looked like!

But oh well, it's over anyway. My 2 years there.

But it still felt kind of nostalgic when I see those flashes of grey and navy blue.

Oh, and there was buffet after all! and it tasted good. :)

4. PIANO.WEDDING.NEW HOUSE!

I'm really really excited about Ms Iris' upcoming wedding! :D

She's gonna be the most beautiful woman that day. :)

What did Batman say to Robin before they got in the car?

...
...
...

"Robin, get in the car."

OH MY. XDXDXD

Did you hear about the new restaurant on the moon? It's got great food, but no atmosphere.

Q: What do you call a boomerang that doesn't come back?

A: A stick.

My thoughts~*

1.

There are,

things I never knew I knew.
things I thought I knew but I didn't know.
things I do not know and will not know.
things I do not know and will eventually know...

2.

Sometimes, we all enjoy asking questions that have no answers.
and enjoy questioning everything and anything, anybody and everybody.

Everything would eventually end in a sigh and a shake of the head, a wave of a hand as a form of dismissal.

"You just don't get it."

3.

A bunch of dreamers.

We're all walking on clouds.
Walking on unsteady grounds, trying to maintain our balance.

We're all told to believe in positivity and happiness and dreams.

Maybe they're right.

Because what is life without positivity and happiness?

4.

Distance.

Physical distance is nothing compared to psychological distance (whatever this is)

Two people can be putting their arms around each other,

yet they're speaking not to each other, but themselves.
they're looking not into each other's eyes, but their own reflections.

So, what really, are they doing in each other's arms?

Trying to light a flame using a used matchstick, perhaps?

5.

So many things in the world are relative to one another.

6.

I want to,

keep things simple.

keep my life simple.

keep myself simple.

Never mind about the fact that I can never outshine anyone, or the fact that I'm just a person to make others stand out, that I might never find my self esteem, that I might never learn to be positive,

that I'm basically

more ordinary than ordinary,
duller than dull,
darker than dark...

I still have a little wish.

(If I'm granted the right to make a wish.)

I want my life to be simple.

Enough of complications and roller coaster rides.

Yes, enough.

7.

Making things alright again.

Making the pain go away.

Making me smile no matter how much it hurts inside.

Piecing me together again.

You didn't stand and watch while I picked up shattered shards of myself.
You picked them up for me, even when they cut you.

You didn't return the harsh words I said when my mood was in the dumps.
You simply smiled and told me everything would be alright.

You didn't turn away when I couldn't control the tears.
You looked into my eyes and there was nothing but concern.

For these, I'm grateful. Eternally grateful.
For your very presence, Himawari. :)

Alright. After all the random thoughts,

I'm going to sleep now.

And the countdown continues! (2 more dayssss!) :D

Making Love out of Nothing At All~*

Making Love Out Of Nothing At All.

4th song in the playlist.
Nearly, very nearly, moved me to tears.

Like what I always say,
we're all searching for something that will last forever.

So,
Have you found it?

Girls, won't you just melt into tears if your guy sings this for you?

By Air Supply

I know just how to whisper,
And I know just how to cry;
I know just where to find the answers;
And I know just how to lie.
I know just how to fake it,
And I know just how to scheme;
I know just when to face the truth,
And then I know just when to dream.
And I know just where to touch you,
And I know just what to prove;
I know when to pull you closer,
And I know when to let you loose.
And I know the night is fading,
And I know that times gonna fly;
And Im never gonna tell you everything
Ive got to tell you,
But I know Ive got to give it a try.
And I know the roads to riches,
And I know the ways to fame;
I know all the rules
And then I know how to break em
And I always know the name of the game.

But I dont know how to leave you,
And Ill never let you fall;
And I dont know how you do it,
Making love out of nothing at all

(making love)
Out of nothing at all,
(making love)
Out of nothing at all,
(making love)
Out of nothing at all,
(making love)
Out of nothing at all,
(making love)
Out of nothing at all
(making love)
Out of nothing at all.

Every time I see you all the rays of the sun
Are streaming through the waves in your hair;
And every star in the sky is taking aim
At your eyes like a spotlight,
The beating of my heart is a drum, and its lost
And its looking for a rhythm like you.
You can take the darkness from the pit of the night
And turn into a beacon burning endlessly bright.
Ive got to follow it, cause everything I know, well its nothing till I give it to you.

I can make the run or stumble,
I can make the final block;
And I can make every tackle, at the sound of the whistle,
I can make all the stadiums rock.
I can make tonight forever,
Or I can make it disappear by the dawn;
And I can make you every promise that has ever been made,
And I can make all your demons be gone.

But Im never gonna make it without you,
Do you really want to see me crawl?
And Im never gonna make it like you do,
Making love out of nothing at all.

(making love)
Out of nothing at all
(making love)
Out of nothing at all
(making love)
Out of nothing at all
(making love)
Out of nothing at all
(making love)
Out of nothing at all
(making love)
Out of nothing at all
(making love)

To love is to receive a glimpse of heaven.

Melodies. Significance~*

TAKO-CHAN's early bday celebration @ PS

TEACHER AND STUDENTS.

AT MAD JACK. :D

Singhun: Eh? I was thinking since when Jack's Place's known as MAD JACK.

XD

Alright. anyway, I was planning to have a proper and cheerful update with photos taken using my AYU-lu-MI-x.
(a bit no link)

But, somehow, I was at a loss for words.

Was listening to my new playlist.

Yes. The one with only 3 songs. But I can relate to all 3 songs at the same time.

1. ENDLESS LOVE  by Lionel Richie

Such a beautiful song. :)

A delicate, romantic and LOVELY song...

I think it's perfect for wedding, isn't it?
I should introduce this to Ms Iris on her upcoming wedding. ^^

Heard it in GIANT today and it struck a chord in me.
So much so that I stood in the middle of the aisle nearest to the speaker just to catch the lyrics.

Felt so much like Nodame when I rushed home and searched for the song simply by using parts of the lyrics that I managed to catch.

"ENDLESS LOVE" BY LIONEL RICHIE

:)

Have been putting it on repeat for approx 27 times. :)

This song is achingly beautiful.

I don't know why, but it has a trigger that can trigger a million emotions in me.
And seemingly dug out things and memories that were previously buried deep inside me.

and laid them out in the open, for me to see.

Like, putting those emotions into one of those glass boxes.

On display.

Making me feel raw. Naked.

and loved.

2. BOSTON BY AUGUSTANA

I think I need a new town, to leave this all behind...
I think I need a sunrise, I'm tired of the sunset,

Using KL-san's words,

I felt as if the song were sung for me.

Not that I'm thinking of going BOSTON,

but reflects my... my desire to get out of my skin.

To set myself free.

Yeah. However beautiful your pair of wings are, as long as they're chained up, and anchored to the ground,

you just can't fly...

The sky,

was, is, and will be beyond reach.

I think... Amberhue can relate to this song too.

3. BETHENA BY SCOTT JOPLIN

The "King of Ragtime".

One of my favourite favourite composers. :)

Why this piece?

Not just the fact that it made its appearance in 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button' (you know? the piece the very young Brad Pitt played after he lost his memory?)

but the fact that it's written for his late wife who passed away from illness 10 weeks after their marriage.

A very bittersweet piece... in my opinion..

Something like... reminiscence...

It's as if the love story between the 2 of them was translated into beautiful music notes.

Something that will not be forgotten, something undying...

Alright. What those songs mean to me. :)

Anyway, something Heather told me which is rather meaningful.

H: I hate taking photos.
J: Why???
H: With photographs, people take your existence for granted.
J: .... hmmm... but people will forget how you look like?

H: If you forget how I look like, ask me out la. ;)

I need you~*

I will write about this. and that.
Soon. :)

"... You've always walked the straight and narrow."
"I was pretty good at sinning in mind only."

- "Falling into the World" by Karen Brichoux

You can say that my life has been relatively pleasant these days.
(minus what a nuisance my phone is, occasional bumps here and there...)

Maybe it's because I'm learning to let things be, to accept things as they are,
resigning to fate.

Maybe it's because I've got 5 days of work left.

There are moments when I doubt my choices, the route I'm planning to take, the way I've handled matters and the time allocated to several things.

There are moments when I get lost and fail to distinguish between what's right and wrong.

But seriously, what's right and wrong anyway?

We all have our own perceptions, our own standards, our own principles which we abide by.

'Right' and 'wrong' are just a thin line apart.

We're all sinners.
We're all not saints.

Some people might appear less sinful than others.
But maybe they're just good at hiding.

Yeah, why not?

Another thing.

I want to make my emotions and thoughts clear.
So, please follow my train of thoughts.

I've dropped so many hints.
I've placed my thoughts in your hands.

But apparently, they slipped through your fingers.

Well, you just want to remain

emotionally blameless.

One more thing.

There are so many people whom I miss.

So many of them.

Last thing.

Himawari-kun once told me this.

"Why is the ALWAYS-cheerful-smiling-grinning-weiing-laughing Jasmine that i ALWAYS see on the surface so brittle on the inside?"

"I am not saying you cant cry though. but just always remember that you have friends to depend on whenever you are down in the doldrums. friends are not there to see you lying flat on your face. they are there to help you get back on your feet. trust them. have faith in them. don think that no one cares about you cos THERE ALWAYS IS and ALWAYS WILL BE."

"should u ever need a listening ear or a shoulder to cry on, i am just a call away."

Made me tear, smile, laugh.

We've cried together, laughed together.

And I wish you were here.

Even if it's a lie,
please tell me everything would be alright.

LUMIX FX48~*

credits: Panasonic website

I FINALLY GOT MY LUMIX FX48!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D

the only thing that's rather perplexing is why I chose ROSE PINK over BLACK/SILVER/CHAMPAGNE GOLD.

Rose pink... not really my style right?
(I guess I was genuinely affected by someone's words + that salesman just assumed that I would choose pink over the rest. And I was too lazy to check out the other colours + rose pink is pretty)

And I'm really gonna cherish this camera. :)

(ok I'm still awake cos my hair dries at the speed of a rock. ok maybe a little faster.)

Anyway,

"Why wake up when you're in the middle of a sweet dream?"
"Because the entire world would still be moving on while you're living in your world of lies and perfection."
"But reality is simply too cruel."
"It will be more cruel if you remain stagnant for the next 20 years. You can't remain there forever. You have to let go to hold on again."

Yes, let go is to hold on again.

Oh yes, my poor poor phone crashed to the floor today.

GONER. T_T

DEAD PHONE!!!~*

MY PHONE IS WORKING AS IF IT'S NO LONGER WORKING.

And it nearly got me into deep shit.

So, I think I'm going to fight with my mum for the spare phone.

Meanwhile, I'm so sorry if you

1. tried to call me and all you get is the dial tone.
2. tried to msg me and get no reply.
3. receive half of my messages.
4. receive my replies only 3 days later.

I think electronic devices just don't like me. =__=

Uncalled for~*

Those people.

"...childish emotions are the strongest kind. The most hateful, the most hurtful, because they are reduced to their purest form. A child --- a very small child --- can experience an emotion without guilt or regret. If a child feels wronged, nothing stands in her way of pointing out the wrongdoing."

- 'Falling into the World' by Karen Brichoux

Adults. They behave like obnoxious children sometimes.
Certain suspicions, certain evil actions are really uncalled for.

You don't really know that,
_____ the witch, do you?
