NIJI~*

listening to aragaki yui's 'Niji' (新垣結衣's '虹')
I'm at the 4th song and I'm already dying from overdose of sweeeeeetness.

she's just sooooooo sweeeeeeeet!!

a true blue okinawan beauty +
her adorable shyness + contagious smile + radiance + saccharine voice

I think if I were a guy, I'd love her to death.

just to augment my point:

she just looks effortlessly pretty in every single photo.

finished listening to her entire album.
and all I can say is that it's really, really lovely. :)

enough to raise your spirits and mood for the rest of the day (night, in my case).

her happy songs are just as infectious as her charming smile. :)

I think I'm going to dream of marshmallows&rainbows&babybunnies tonight.

UPDATES!~*

http://weheartit.com/entry/2093242

[written on 1st May 2010]

1. EXAMS ARE FINALLLLY OVER!!!

and the same old rule applies here.
anybody mentioning anything to do with exams shall get shot.

you know when I feel dreadful, I really mean DREADful. :(

I've got about a million things to say, but now (with my degenerating brain) I can only remember a couple of them. :( and I'll keep them short and concise.

2. Adorable kitten

so painfully small and thin! and it was trailing after me when I was on my way to school for my much-dreaded paper. I wish I could have turned back.

a decision between being late for exams and feeding that poor poor kitten.

oh well. :(

3. Insanity

I think I was almost non-human during study break and exam period.

"yo LIFELESS"

my sister called me that almost everyday.

I was so cut off from the world.

conversations with human beings dwindled.
daylight never got to me.
zilch human contact.

ok. I may be exaggerating a little but you get what I mean.

sheeeeeeer torture.

(and what's the point... okok let's not talk about it)

and I started having strange, recurring dreams of furry animals crawling all over the floor.
mice, big rats, rabbits... they were ALL OVER THE FLOOR.
and finally, some unindentifiable furry creature (about the size of a chair) with flaming red fur and purple horns.

what the.

4. Insomniac

you know, I can no longer sleep till late late late in the early afternoon. (LOL)

I tend to wake up at 8
automatically.

8!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

when I can sleep till what... noon?

miserable.

5. need to make plans

for so many things.
for the 3 months holidays... probably for my future as well.

right now, I'm really just keeping them at bay.

but soon, I really need to face the music. SOON.

6.
a little random here, but my sis's alarm clock has been ringing for the past 10 minutes.

I can hear it from here!!! in the dining room!

and she can't. =_=

7. mothers day

no worries about it, really, especially if you have a mother who's constantly, CONSTANTLY reminding you about it.

"hey anybody giving me a treat? I think I've got several suggestions."

she's impossible.

7.5 hmm. I've got a confession to make.

that alarm clock that was ringing was mine.

8. Lisa Ono's Concert!!!

www.culture.sh.cn/product.asp%3F...d%3D3400

need I say more?

Definitely the BESSSST way to start your post-exam (post-mortem... but let's not talk about this) holidays! :)
an awesome surprise from an awesome SG! :D

and about a million thanks to hw and jaslyn! :D

I know after the concert, I would start gushing all over her mesmerizing vocals and all those splendid bossa nova (hmm!!!) songs. :) :)

I'm a real real sucker for bossa nova~~ heeheeheehee.

I've got a feeling joyce is staring at this entry dubiously. haha! air supply and now this... XD
(i think my girlfriends are all finding my music preference a little un-generic)

why not kelly clarkson? or... Show Lo or... Jay Chou yeah?

hahah let's just say my taste in music diverges a little from general twenty year-olds. (though I'm not twenty... YET XD)

9. But then again, there's this obsession with Ayu.
which kind of... contradicts my previous sentence, no?

(AND THOSE PERPERTUAL CRITICIZERS OF HER, I know what you guys are thinking in that evil mind of yours. hahaha)

truly awesome. and she did it again. broke the record.

via AHS forum

wooots! :D

you've got bleeding electrical outlets, strange models singing through loud halers, horses with balloons as heads, that lovely crazy 'bleeding-eye' make up, destroying your own posters with ugly, red streaks, defacing yourself...

all those crazy out-of-whack concepts and those amazingly evocative self-written lyrics...

83470823748623 thumbs up. :)

[continued on 2nd May]

9.5
8237418093740817238092 thumbs up for LISA ONO!!!

simply, simply beautiful. :D

that's precisely what I meant by 'music which teleports me away'.

her vocals are so... mellow, soothing, it's almost ethereal. :)

definitely deserving of the standing ovation at the end of the concert. :)

10.

HANAMIZUKI! starring aragaki yui and ikuta toma. :D

please, please, please screen this in singapore!!!

tako just doesn't seem to comprehend why I love gakky so much.
apparently she has something against sugary sweet and lovely female artistes. :D hahaha!

she prefers female artistes with... more oomph, perhaps?

toda erika

like I said, I myself am not sure what type of female artistes really appeal to me.

Hamasaki Ayumi (couldn't resist posting a pic of her)

Anyway, I sound like I like females.

11. I realized I haven't touched fast food for AGESSSSS.

you know what, I got a feeling a didn't touch them since the start of this year.

and to my surprise, I don't find myself missing them all that much either. =/

I'm so so determined to fulfil my resolution to keep my health in check.
(it was horrendous beyond words last year. my body was in complete chaos)

12. is it just me or is the new starhub channel listing just plain confusing?!

"Animax please."
"what number?"
"5 something something, I think."
"huh? ohoh it's 532."
"okok remember that."

(moments later)

"I want football channel."
"where???"
"no idea?!?!"
"#$*&!#@*(&@"

(moments later)

"switch back to animax!"
"... what's the number again...?"
"I told you to remember it?!"
"I remember football channel now."
"tsk... it's 5 something something!"
"ehhh... I don't remember!"
"NEITHER DO I!"
!@#(*&!)#($&!@#*($&!!#@$QIERUq3491#@($*.............

it's supposed to make channel listening more convenient... right?

13.
my mother is happily watching 'Pink Panther'. She was watching 'Tom and Jerry' and laughing really hard half the time.

well...

14.
I think I'm going to look for a job.

before I turn all rusty and useless and before my bank account becomes increasingly pathetic.

15.

I think my fringe is as long as my arm now.
and the hair on my head is turning into a bunch of snakes.

so I'm off for a much needed (and much dreaded) haircut!

bye people! :)

round and round~*

"Within our hearts Light is given life"
- 'Hoshizora no Waltz' by Minami Kuribayashi

"I want to write about people who dream and wait for the night to end, who long for the light so they can hold the ones they love. But right now I have to stay here and keep watch over this woman and this girl. I will never let anyone - not anyone - try to put them into that crazy box - not even if the sky should fall or the earth crack open with a roar"
- 'Honey Pie' from 'After the Quake' by Murakami Haruki

And with that, it marks the end of the collection of short stories --- 'After the Quake'. :)
Such a sweet, lovely ending to the story. :)

This is funny in a strange way.

I'm suffering from a lack of sleep and truly yearn for a good, long rest.
But on the other hand, I don't want to sleep because I don't want the night to end so fast.
If you get what I mean.

Now that my sociology test is over (and I don't have much confidence about it to begin with), it's time to focus on my report and project. And then, before you can even let out a happy sigh of relief, it's END OF YEAR EXAMS.

Like, doomz (AHAHAHAHAHA.).

Anyway, I just borrowed a new novel 'A Quiet Life' by Kenzaburo Oe.
Yes, another Japanese author.
Somehow, Japanese literary works are just so... compelling.
I'll talk about it after finishing it. ^^

Japanese music, Japanese movies, Japanese animation/manga, Japanese dramas, Japanese artistes, Japanese cuisine... and now, Japanese literary works.
Gosh.
I think my biggest wish would be to go to Japan.
But, I think it'll be my biggest wish as well as my biggest regret.

Because I know how I'd feel when I step foot in Singapore again.
The sickening emptiness and I know going Japan will aggravate it even more.
I probably would go if I bought a one-way ticket. haha.

I think, in life, we're all given a one-way ticket.
No way back. Just move along.

Move along,
no matter how much it hurts, no matter how dark the future seems, no matter how terribly uncertain everything seems.

Just move along.

And eventually, you will come into contact with the glimmer of hope.
Or rather, realize that the glimmer of hope resides within you.

The glimmer of hope.
Never let it extinguish.

Because then, you'll find you way out.
If not, you'll truly be trapped in the darkness. And slide into endless despair.

Maybe things aren't so despairing after all.

I want to believe that.

And keep the flame of hope burning.

Similar to the protagonist in 'Honey Pie', I would, too, watch over those I love. Those significant people in my life.

Because they are the people who keep the flame going.

Updates~*

BABIES. XD

"

'You give too much attention to things that make you unhappy'

The unflattering observations she makes about other people, the comments that get her in trouble, aren't these truer than small talk and thank-you notes? Worse, but truer. And underneath all the decorum, isn't most everyone judgemental and disappointed? Or is it only certain people, and can she choose not to be one of them - can she choose this without also... just giving in?"

- 'The Man of My Dreams' by Curtis Sittenfeld

LAZY BONES.

Every single bone in me.

I wanted to write a proper entry with complete with photos and details.

But the very thought of it makes me exhausted.

I think as I age (SIGH), the less I want to spend my time on details and recounting events.

Maybe, some things are better left stored in the mind and then gradually allowed to turn serpia with time.

1.

I'M TERRIBLY UNPHOTOGENIC.

And this sentence applies since what... centuries ago.

I can still remember all the evil cackles over my ugly photos man.

All those PSYCHOPATHS and SICKOS.
GRRRRR. (basically all my friends though. =__=)

Cameras are NOT my best friend.

Well, well, well, don't you just envy people who look great without even trying????
Like, they can take candid shots looking flawless and ravishing?

OH NEVERMIND.

2.

My mum is occupying my laptop most of the time.

and using it to play games. XD

Mum: HEY.
Jas: *reading a novel* what?
Mum: HEY HEY!!
Jas: YES???
Mum: COME HERE LA!!
Jas: YESSSSSS????? *puts down novel and walks over*
Mum: How to pass this level?

3.

I didn't know I could get so excited over Air Supply.

But anyway, I nearly accidentally killed K-kun when the opening to 'Making Love out of Nothing At All' was played.

I was ecstatic. :D

It came as a surprise, since I thought they would leave out that song.

And then the other encore song was 'All Out of Love'.

double the ecstasy. :DD

PLUS, they sang 'Without You', 'Goodbye', 'Two Less Lonely People In The World', 'Here I Am', 'Even the Nights are Better' etc etc.

YEAH IM OLD BUT SERIOUSLY YOU MUST LISTEN TO THEM. LIVE.

then you'll be convinced why I would feel that way. :)

Some songs transcend across time, across age groups.

4.

Do you realize we look for our own inadequacies in other people?

5.

My sister would be back this Friday.

(THANK GOODNESS I'VE GOT MY LAPTOP AND SHE GOT HERS.)

I wonder how life would be like.

I've become so accustomed to being the only person in the house when I wake up, and the last person to turn off the lights at night.

And I've been dumping my stuff in her room. (OOPS)

Basically, if my own room were to be a rubbish dump, then hers wouldn't be any better. Maybe a tidier one.

XD yeah yeah. TIME TO DO SOMETHING.

6.

Facebook.

Sometimes I wonder what's the actual use for it.

To satisfy our curious, sadistic nature? (STALKERS)

To fulfil our desire to be approved of, to be ogled at (some of us, anyway), to be NOTICED?

or just to... update our friends with our hip and happening lives?

to let the world know that we have a LIFE.

or to play games? (my pet is going to die soon)

or just plain boredom.

Hmm..? What do you think?

7.

I'm not the only one who has an obsession with pretty women.

Aren't you awed too, when you see a gorgeous lady who doesn't try very hard to be absolutely stunning? :)

Well, the aftertaste of this is probably really bitter.

"some girls are just so freaking lucky!"

8.

If,

if we really believe that everything happens for a reason,

is that being naive? or living in denial? or just simply trying to justify things that can't be justified? and to make things hurt less?

To put it simply, do we come up with ideas (true or not) to make things seem more bearable?

In case I'm being really vague here,

for example, you lost your wallet.
and then, you tell yourself 'well, everything happens for a reason.'

somebody tells you you look awful.
then you tell yourself 'hmm. everything happens for a reason.'

when life starts to go haywire and great people all turn out to be jerks,
you tell yourself, 'that's the way to make me a stronger person.'

Is that denial?

Putting a protective shield over ourselves.

and to make sense out of things that don't make sense.

Is this called OPTIMISM?

Right now, I want to laugh.

So that's what pessimists think of optimism.

optimism = self denial.

Shit man, I ought to get rid of all these stupid thoughts.

By the way, for your info,

I'm a firm believer of the 'Everything happens for a reason' idea. HAHA.

9.

Gakky's new album 'HUG'

listening to it makes me float in the air.

and turn diabetic.

she's soooo sweet.

I have a really soft spot for sweet girls. (those who don't try too hard)

10.

BRIDES ARE REALLY BEAUTIFUL.

and listening to her gushing over her wedding preparations, honeymoon etc etc just makes you really happy for her. :)

In fact, we spent about half of my piano lesson choosing wedding photos & bookmarks for me to take home + chatting about her wedding stuff. :)

REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY

BEAUTIFUL. :)

11.

Are you observant enough to notice that I kept using this phrase

'trying too hard'?

I think if you ask me, there are certain people who try too hard in doing things.

To seek approval? To impress? To stand out?

I think, in my opinion, I'm more impressed with people who don't even need to try hard to impress.

Pretty girls who don't have to try too hard to make me look at them twice.

Intellects who don't have to try too hard to show people that they know everything.

You see, if you've got it in you, you've got it in you. :)

11.

Oh and I think charisma > mere appearances.

One more thing. I'm straight. Straight like a piece of rebonded hair. XD

12.

GENTINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG.

13.

two MORE lonely people in the world.

14.

YOU WALKED IN.

15.

I still need my 300 hours a day!!!

16.

As beautiful as the fireworks. :)

I love coffee!~*

"True love does not come by finding the perfect person, but by learning to see an imperfect person perfectly."
- Jason Jordan

1. FORTUNE TELLING

On Thursday, our bosses invited a pretty famous Taiwanese fengshui master to our office to look at the fengshui AND to take do some face-reading for all the employees.

So, I, as a pessimist, was imagining all the terrible things that he could say about me.

"Hmm... not good. In fact, you are already at the peak of your life"
*FAINTS*

"Ahh... you would just be going downhill from now."

So, I was breaking out in cold sweat when he walked towards me and my colleagues were surrounding me, all super eager to hear what he has to say. =__=

Then he asked me for my birthdate and requested for me to lift up my fringe.
And he stared hard at me. (his eyes were really piercing)

FS master: Not bad.
Jas: oh.
FS: you're a very upright person.
Jas: ???
FS: you're a very very kind-hearted person. (he emphasized this twice.)
Jas: OH.
FS: A very positive person.
Jas: ???????????????????????????????????????????????????
FS: Positive character.
Jas: OH.
FS: And a highly efficient worker. Your boss is really lucky to have you work for him. (yeah. for another 15 days? *CACKLES*)
Jas: oh.
FS: BUT, you'll have intestinal problems.
Jas: O.O

So all in all, he didn't reveal much about where I would be heading from now.
And just gave me a summary of my personality, I guess.

So, people, now you know who's nice, right? XD

Ok la. I was a little skeptical, considering how he didn't say any negative things about my personality and the only negative thing he said was about my health issues (intestinal problems, and I don't really get it).

But there was one thing he kept asking me.

FS: why are you working here at such a young age???? shouldn't you be in school?????????????

LOL. If I told him I quitted school, maybe he would've changed what he said about me then. ;)

2. BOOKS

I've finished 'The Bright Side of Disaster' and now it's 'Falling Into The World' by Karen Brishoux. :)

TBSOD was really good. And I'm glad I took a break from the dark tales (as much as I adore them). This one made me a little more positive. (but maybe only temporarily. XD)

It made me realize how life can spin out of control anytime. But somehow, there would always be a way to halt it and bring it back to its original path.

I know I know. It's just FICTION, right?

But sometimes, things that happen to you seem fictional too, don't they?

3. BEAUTIFUL

I enjoy people-watching.

Do you?

When you really take a good look around you, you'll realize that actually there are many good-looking girls out there.

Which makes me wonder, how do you you truly define beauty?

Hourglass figure? D-cup? Humongous eyes? Perfectly chiseled features? Super fair? Super thin? A waterfall of silky hair? Perfectly manicured fingernails? Flawless complexion? Or what?

Or simply to feel beautiful? To be confident of the way you look?

To have someone appreciate the way you look, the way you are?

Ultimately, the greatest beauty in the world would also feel ugly if no one expressed their appreciation for her beauty, isn't it?

And also, if you don't feel beautiful, you would not be beautiful. Simple as that. :)

4. JAZZZZZZZZZZZ

I'm nuts about jazz&bossa nova these days.
(so, I am going to practise my 'Alligator Crawl' more often. A lovely jazzy piano piece, really. :))

But don't you find them very seductive and romantic and relaxing all at the same time?

Ok. Maybe it's just me. You know? Jazz, Jas... yeah you get it. XD

5. BRUNETTE

Suddenly, I remember arguing with K-Kun about what brunette/brunet really means.
(he insisted it's a term for people with brown hair and I insisted it was for black hair)

I decided to check it out and well, it turned out that we were both right. It's for 'dark-haired' people.
(though brunette literally means 'little brown-haired girl' so he's more right)

Anyway, the point is, my determination to stay brunette (BLACK HAIR) is wavering a little.

I don't know, but you see, I keep telling people

"I feel like dying..."

and now I really do.

"...dying it brown."

Let me see. I should really stop making such lousy attempts to make my entry funny. LOL.

BUT STILL, I wonder if I would suit brown hair.

6. YES I LOVE COFFEE :D

7. YOU

When you told me my message nearly made you tear, I felt the sudden jolt in my heart.

For not giving up, for hanging in there, for all the effort you've put in and would be putting in, for being the only person who doesn't join in the -censored- things they do (LOL), for giving your all, for simply being you,

君が僕の誇り。:)

8. GIRLFRIENDS

Because you plant a genuine smile on my face.

Need to say more?

9.
I'll hang in there. For another freaking 3 weeks.

10.
YES 頑張って!!!

Anyway, I'm learning to accept things as they are and move on.

Yeah, move onnnnnnnnnnnnnn, people. :)

Random:

I'm now a proud owner of 'REC' dvd. :D

TRJ II

I LOVE THIS PLAYLIST BUT WHY IS IMEEM BEING SO CRUEL THAT ALL SONGS ARE ONLY 30SECONDS LONG?!?!?!?!?!?!
(open it in a new window to listen to the full songs!)
